This blog exists as a window into my world for the next year and a half. I get a lot of questions as to what I am about to go through and as much as I would love to answer individual emails, I felt this was a much better way of keeping people up-to-date.
I will do my best to answer commonly asked questions as well as interjecting information I think you'll find interesting.
I haven't seen many of you in awhile, so let's start off with an updated photo. This is a photo from a buddy's wedding this past fall. I will do my best to update this blog with photos often.
So what is this blog about? Ever since I was a kid, as young as two my mom claims, I wanted to be a pilot (in particular a military aviator). I was so interested in airplanes that I used to do things like sit in a box on my Grandparent's front lawn and look up at the sky and pretend I was flying the planes that flew overhead.
My earliest memories of being interested in flying were of when my grandpa Mindor (Norwegian) used to take me to the Minneapolis Airport to watch the airplanes. We'd sit for what seemed like hours just watching them taxi to and from the runway, take-off, and land. It was so intriguing to think how a giant steel tube could fly through the air.
Anyway, being an aviator has been my longest running dream. Through much sweat, frustration, and patience, the Army agreed to help make my dream come true. In June of 2012 I was selected by the Minnesota National Guard to attend Flight School in Alabama.
For the next year and a half, or so, I will be learning to fly Army helicopters. I will keep this blog as up-to-date as I can with the time I am given. My schedule will be incredibly busy at times, and in typical Army fashion, I will also be incredibly bored at times.
